A lightweight macOS menu-bar monitor for live system stats and AI usage — network, CPU, GPU, memory, and Claude / Codex consumption, all in the menu bar.

Download & install

1. Download **menyew-1.0.5.zip from the Assets** below.
2. Unzip it and drag **menyew.app into your Applications** folder.
3. Open it. MenYew lives in the menu bar (a Dock icon is shown on first launch so you can find it; you can hide it later in Settings → General).
• Signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so it opens with no security warnings.

Requires macOS 13 (Ventura) or later. Universal — runs natively on both Apple silicon and Intel Macs.

Already running MenYew? You don't need this download — it updates itself (Settings → General → Check for Updates…), as long as it lives in your Applications folder.

What's new in 1.0.5

🎚️ New: Audio Spectrum module

A live visualizer of your system audio output, right in the menu bar. Enable it in Settings → the sidebar's Audio section (it's off by default; the first time it runs, macOS asks permission to capture audio — requires macOS 14.2+).

• Four styles: smooth Bars, LED blocks, an Analyzer line trace, or an analog VU needle.
• Vintage color themes: 1980s (green→yellow→red), Pioneer, Technics, Amber, or your own foreground color — applied to every style.
• Mono or Stereo (a separate spectrum per channel), Peak Hold (with hold time + color), Auto-Gain, optional Glow, and adjustable bands (1–48) and dB steps.
• Pack it into the Combined item next to your other monitors.

📶 Network: "Automatic" interfaces

Network now has an Automatic mode that shows only the interfaces currently carrying traffic — so VPNs like Tailscale that spin up and hop between utunN interfaces are followed on their own, no checklist babysitting.
